Position Summary
The Clinical Member Care Specialist will organize and provide Member Care for East-West personnel and their families. Additionally, the specialist will provide training, resources, and Member Care referrals as needed so that personnel have the resources they need to thrive in their relationships and ministries. As appropriate, they will participate in local ministry, in coordination with local leadership. The specialist must maintain appropriate US licensure, and HIPAA certification, including CEU’s and supervision as required by your licensing board. This position is responsible for ensuring all position duties are clearly aligned with East-West’s Vision, Mission, Values, and Biblical Principles.
As an ambassador of faith in Christ and rooted in Biblical principles, this position will actively minister to EW leadership, staff, partners and the community in a manner that exhibits Christ-character through personal and corporate spiritual disciplines.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Intrinsic and overarching duties
Steward East-West operations, donations, and assets, recognizing that all must give an account O(Proverbs 16:8; Matthew 25:14-30; Luke 12:41-48)
Ensure internal communications are of the highest level since all work is an offering to the Lord (Exodus 35:4-40:38; Colossians 3:23, 24)
Serve East-West constituents, understanding that serving is of higher importance than personal agendas (John 13:12-15; Philippians 2:3-8)
Provide member care and counseling services as needed to personnel
Administrative responsibilities
Consult with Member Care leadership regarding personnel and clinical matters
Provide training/learning opportunities to personnel in their area of service
Develop and maintain network of personal financial support
Education and Experience
Postgraduate degree in counseling, psychology, marriage and family, social work or related mental health field
Current licensure in one of the above fields, from a US state licensure board
HIPAA certification
Experienced in sharing his/her faith with a clear, concise gospel message
Experienced in effectively discipling new followers of Jesus, preferred
Has a thoughtful biblical worldview for clinical practice
Experience in cross-cultural ministry, preferred
Uphold a close and growing relationship with Jesus Christ
Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities
Broad-based clinical background during which a wide range of clients were seen with a wide range of presenting issues
Significant overseas experience, preferred
Emotional and relational maturity
Demonstrated gift of practicing wise counsel
Responds with clear thinking during stressful situations
Ability to travel internationally
Must possess excellent relationship skills with clear gifting in the areas of encouragement, listening, exhortation, teaching, and innate sensitivity to the needs of others
Capable of and willing to refer clients to the proper setting when referral is indicated
Capable of teaching/leading in group settings
Capable of working in a broad range of settings with a broad range of people
May be required to obtain language proficiency to live in certain field settings
Has experience and is willing to counsel both male and female clients
Able to offer counseling very early and/or very late in the day, due to clients in different time zones.
Handles administrative responsibilities in an effective, timely manner
Dependable, with maturity of judgment and respect for the needs of clients and co-workers
Organizational and time management skills, including proficiency in evaluating and prioritizing issues
Proficiency in or capacity to learn Google Workspace and organizational software & security platforms
