Position Summary
The IT Operations Manager is responsible for the supervision, management, maintenance and security of our servers, desktops, information and communication systems, network infrastructure and related IT support services for East-West. The IT Operations Manager is responsible for the daily management of East-West’s IT infrastructure to ensure continuous availability of applications, network and communications services, including management of East-West’s virtualized servers and disaster recovery systems. The IT Operations Manager will continually seek opportunities to maximize security, reliability, scalability, availability, and support of East-West’s IT infrastructure. Independent judgment and initiative are required to plan, prioritize, and organize a diversified workload under pressure and deadlines. A service-oriented mindset, good communications skills, attention to detail and a positive attitude are crucial to the success of this position. Some after-hours on-call services will be required.
This position is responsible for playing their part to achieve the bigger mission of East-West and for ensuring that all mobilization activities are clearly aligned with East-West Vision, Mission, Values, Statement of Faith, and Biblical principles. As an ambassador of faith in Christ and rooted in Biblical principles, this position will actively minister to EW leadership, staff, partners, and the community in a manner that exhibits Christ-character through personal and corporate spiritual disciplines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure the continual functioning, security and availability of all IT systems
Monitor and proactively manage all IT systems (network, hardware and IT-managed applications)
Develop, review, test and certify all back-up and disaster recovery procedures and plans
Design and implement automation scripts to streamline repetitive IT operational processes, significantly reducing manual effort and minimizing the potential for human error
Support network access and interoperability of servers, PCs, Macs and mobile devices consistent with East-West policies and BYOD culture
Create, advise, implement, track and enforce standards and procedures for IT portfolio management
Maintain security and privacy of all information systems, communication lines, and equipment
Contribute to, maintain and implement best practices and written documentation for IT systems
Support field ministry technology needs as an advisor and service provider
Ensure consistent communications to all parties regarding service issues, maintenance issues and outages
Research and recommend new systems and technologies

Additional Qualifications for IT Operations Manager
Experience managing and supporting a LAN and wireless network, virtualized servers, and various endpoint devices
Proficiency in administering Linux servers in a production environment will be considered a significant advantage
Experience with Google Workspace and desktop operating systems
Knowledge of planning, installing, configuring and supporting server, hosted and desktop software
Hands-on experience managing and maintaining cloud infrastructure in a major public cloud platform (e.g., Microsoft Azure, AWS, GCP) highly preferred
Experience using scripting languages (like Python or shell) to interact with APIs is highly desired
Experience defining requirements for and procuring servers, networking components and desktops
Experience supporting international operations and remote users preferred
Broad knowledge of information technology processing systems, concepts, and methodologies
Experience supporting audio/visual (A/V) equipment and conference room technology is a plus
Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
Strong problem-solving skills and demonstrated aptitude for learning new technologies
Ability to manage competing demands, accept criticism and constructive feedback, while being extremely adaptable and flexible
Familiarity with Project Management principles a plus
Driven to constantly improve IT operations and support – not satisfied with status quo
Proven ability to manage, grow and develop IT staff preferred
